First iteration
It's happening!
What is it?
It is a prototype of a grid combat turn based game with cards... For now, there are only the core mechanics implemented, and a way to add cards. The road is long, and we just made the first step here.
Where is it?
For now, it is on a private github project. The builds will be updated on the page of the game (not yet ready for this first iteration).
How is it made?
Unity, C#, Photoshop.
For this prototype, there are a lot of inspirations from Code Monkey and Brackeys, as well as some artwork from WoW.
The art is not meant to stay here forever, but it will help us make and show this prototype to people able to replace it.
Who made it?
For the time being, it is I.
I sometimes use "us" and "we" as I hope to get some help from friends in the near futur. Obviously, all helpers will be mentioned. And if someone is missing in the end, please tell me so I can correct it.
And now?
Where are we going with this? Well, we obviously need to add some content, to adjust the combat, to make it interesting, challenging, etc...
So for the next iteration, a starting todo list is:
- Add cards
- Balance team and cards
- Correct grid size
- Change UI (hand of cards, cards, grid... the view of the player)
- Implement the draw of new cards from the deck in a turn
- Get new cards at the end of a match to complete your deck
- Start AI (for one player game) OR network for remote match
These are short terms goals and improvements. There are a lot of things to add, to twinkle and to change. Maybe the list will be followed for the next iteration, maybe not.
The big "short term" goal is to have something somewhat fun to play with, so we can show this prototype to people able to make a story, some art, music and everything we, today, lack.
